If you are over 55 you can withdraw 25% tax free. The rest is taxed as income. E.g. if you have a SIPP worth £100,000 you can withdraw £25,000 taxfree. The £75,000 left could be withdrawn over a period of say 10 years at £7,500 per year. That £7500 would be added to your income and you would be taxed accordingly.

Yes you do. Tax relief on the way in, tax charged on the way out.

When you withdraw funds from your SIPP, you can take 25% of the fund value tax free. The rest is treated as income and subject to Income Tax, treated as your top slice of income for the year in question.

So, after taking the 25% which you can do as a lump sum, you might spread your withdrawals over a number of years to avoid higher rates of tax applying, depending upon your circumstances.

Thank you but I thought you had to pay tax on any money you withdraw

You get CGT relief by investing in a SIPP. You don't pay CGT

I have the pleasure of owning a chunk of these in my SIPP - a pleasure as I timed it nicely!!! :-)

If one holds AIM shares in a SIPP for 2+ years, are they subject to CGT. It was once the case that AIM shares if held for that period of time did not attract CGT. Haven't looked for a while as I am not approaching pensionable age for a few years yet!.

Thank you in advance for any info, or pointers in the right direction as to where I might check. Quite a lot to sift through if Google for an answer.

The article finishes with broker forecasts of profits doubling to £2.7m next year and suggests existing holders to sit firm and new investors to jump on board at 45p. Could potentially put the share price on another run, roll on Monday.

Excellent. Just what we need...the press article earlier this year set the share price on its way to 50p before drifting back. 50p + tomorrow and then on to new heights where it belongs. Again, recurring revenue alone puts this in to £100m mcap territory.

MIDAS SHARE TIPS UPDATE: Our maps tip, innovative UK business 1Spatial, is up 30% since March
By JOANNE HART, FINANCIAL MAIL ON SUNDAY

PUBLISHED: 21:51, 23 October 2021 | UPDATED: 22:16, 23 October 2021

Cambridge-based 1Spatial is another innovative UK business and the group's clever technology is winning plaudits both here and overseas.

It helps Government bodies, utility firms, the emergency services and others to know where buildings, power stations, underground cables, pipes, and even woods and fields are located. The group then ensures that the information is accurate, online and can be made available to those who need it.

This so-called location data has numerous uses. Contractors can use the data so they do not accidentally damage water or gas pipes when drilling beneath the street.

Finger on the pulse: 1Spatial helps Government bodies, utility firms, emergency services and others to know where buildings, power stations, underground cables and pipes are located

Firefighters can use it to reach remote locations faster. And Government departments can use it make decisions on issues such as improving flood defences or ensuring there are enough charging points on the road for the growing numbers of electric vehicles.

Recommended by Midas in March at 35p, the shares have since risen 30 per cent to 45.5p following a string of new contracts, robust interim figures and a lively pipeline of projects. The stock should continue to deliver.

This year alone, chief executive Claire Milverton has signed pioneering deals with the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Land Registry and National Underground Asset Register, which is creating a subterranean digital map of the UK.

Earlier this month, 1Spatial announced an agreement with Northern Ireland's Land and Property Services, under which every home in the province, from mansion to studio, will be given a unique property reference, accessible to public sector departments and local utility companies.

Not only will this help to ensure people are paying their rates and taxes, it will also benefit vulnerable citizens, by allowing social services, for example, to see whether someone is using too little water or electricity for their needs.

By my analysis of today's trade we were in a big boys bun fight. The average trade size was above normal private investors level. The price range includes three negotiated deals and was reasonably tight which makes judging which buys sells difficult. .

Other than margins being a tad down which can be expected there's not much to grumble about and there are clear indicators that this is a business being very well run by management. shame they didn't pull a small operating profit but you can almost smell it now and y/e we should be there. Up from here I expect.
