29/1/2013 09:25 | Small buys before to con flab today lads. | 412069
28/1/2013 15:16 | That's been posted on lots of bb's. TW has a share here akaik, so tip best ignored and leave it to the company to show its worth. Lets hope the dire performance of the previous tips doesn't rub off. | yump
28/1/2013 12:06 | pabloiom..i dont want to sign up the the above link are SPA tipped! | 412069
28/1/2013 10:23 | Yuk. That's the only drawback, a bit of 'previous' ;-) On the other hand, if the company does well, it won't matter who is or isn't tipping it, or who has got a shareholding. | yump
28/1/2013 09:27 | All good promotion. Might put SPA on a few more radars. | devil20
28/1/2013 09:15 | I wonder if they'll end up talking to WANdisco, who are also at the forum, as they are becoming involved with big data in a slightly different way. Investors from the forum might help the share price to stabilise at this level now or rise, if only for the simple reason that many of the other companies share prices appear to be up with or ahead of events, whereas SPA is an unknown, but with potentially a lot to come if you assume 15-20mln revenue. | yump
28/1/2013 08:13 | Morning all, we should see a few buyers after the showcase i think. One thing i have notice is the contract rns's usually come out the first monday or day of the month. Should they time this next one right just after a showcase aswell you never know! | 412069
25/1/2013 10:17 | Although its a different company compared to early last year, it wouldn't surprise me to see the share price follow a symmetrical looking pattern. Illogical, but there's that many people following charts it can become self-fulfilling. Unless there's another contract announcement eg. OZ. If it gets back anywhere near 4p, I'll have quite a few more. From what I can see 2012 was the year of a lot of governments putting plans in place for big data geospatial projects, so I think the contract flow is inevitable in 2013. 5p could be a good support though, if the share price doesn't behave historically. If it settles around here for a month or so, that will be a very good sign imo. | yump
25/1/2013 10:15 | Dev.. its a touch daft, if you look you can clearly see 187k buys v 12k sell they have been leaving large buys that come in in the morning wait until the share price jumps then show them after hours or late on as sells. | 412069
25/1/2013 10:05 | The share price will probably pop up during/at end to show a rise. Once they've stopped playing around! | devil20
25/1/2013 09:48 | Morning all! showing trades as sells @ 5p and one @ 50k not even showing up on total volume, a bit odd. | 412069
25/1/2013 08:25 | yump. See ITE thread. | lufc5
24/1/2013 15:28 | MM's been giving peeps above bid prices for a week or so now, looking solid ready for the next jump. Thought it would flatline for a longer period @ 5p. | 412069
24/1/2013 13:36 | Background info: In August 2012 Brazil announced spending of around £18mln in the next five years to be spent on roads and railways. (Although the economy has been growing, the infrastructure is creaking). Brazil also hosted the first Latin American geospatial forum last year, so other countries will no doubt be watching to see how they progress. | yump
23/1/2013 14:27 | Actually for anyone reading who wants more background, that link is a very good, clear document for understanding where geospatial is heading, its uses and why its important. | yump
23/1/2013 14:24 | Yes, that looks likely. OS is well respected globally and hopefully that will lead to a lot of contacts that are already partially primed. Will be interesting to see contracts won through Avisen's contacts as well, as that was supposed to be one of the benefits of 1Spatial's integration into Avisen - cash for investment and cross-selling. US Census might have been one, I don't know if Avisen were already working for them in some capacity. | yump
23/1/2013 14:16 | Yump This could be SPA's next contract win, or they will supply the means to do it, smae thing i suppose. | 412069
23/1/2013 12:24 | Had a speed read through all 200 pages. In simple terms the US Census Bureau get 1 Billion per year budget, are contracts up to the 2020 census. BUDGET ACTIVITY: Economic Statistics Programs For FY 2012, the Census Bureau requests an increase of $13.1 million and 78 FTE over the FY 2012 base program for a total of $134.8 and 740 FTE for Economic Statistics Programs. BASE JUSTIFICATION FOR FY 2012: Economic Statistics Programs Overview The Census Bureau's mission is to serve as the leading source of quality data about the nation's people and economy. The Economic Statistics Programs activity furthers this mission by providing key benchmark measures about the U.S. economy and governments. The Economic Statistics Program ($134.8 million and 740 FTE) budget is organized into two subactivities under the Periodic Censuses and Programs account, The Economic Census subactivity ($124.3 million and 662 FTE) is organized into five line items representing major program components: Direction, Content Determination and Design, Mail List Development and Mailout, Collection and Processing, and Publication and Dissemination. The Census of Governments subactivity ($10.5 million and 78 FTE) is organized into five line items representing major program components: Direction, Content Determination and Design, Mail List Development and Mailout, Collection and Processing, and Publication and Dissemination. | 412069
23/1/2013 11:30 | Would be fun eh. I did once have £250k profit with Offshore Telecom any early company thats been blended into SPA over the years but did not want to give Mr Brown 40% at the time. Ho how i wish i did now though. It can happen. | 412069
23/1/2013 10:57 | I can't resist doing the blue sky calcs. - what might happen in a best-case: 20mln turnover. 3.5mln pretax (reasonable goal in software/services) 1p earnings per share. p/e of 30 because by then it would be highly rated and a bit trendy. = share price of 30p. Simple in theory. Let's say for 2014 - I'd fall off my chair if we got that level of 'clean' profit for 2013 ! | yump
23/1/2013 10:50 | Its certainly not a minor project ! Plus from the detail of the announcement back in October, SPA are actually at the heart of the process: (I've just included the salient points): Through a long term engagement with the U.S. Census Bureau, 1Spatial and LSI have developed and designed an automated conflation process to bring together geospatial data from varied sources... .."This is a large, complex and mission critical spatial database that is growing at 10-15% annually," explained Tim Trainor, Geography Division Chief, U.S. Census Bureau. "There are huge demands from the user community for spatial and temporal accuracy and quality, together with stringent processing deadlines. We believe that 1Spatial and LSI's solution will meet our expectations in contributing to an agile, Service Orientated Architecture". The software and services will be utilised by the Geography Division as part of a new initiative in preparation for the 2020 Decennial Census. The Geography Division maintains the geographic base data upon which U.S. censuses and surveys are tabulated. | yump
23/1/2013 10:44 | A slice of that 67m would do. | 412069
23/1/2013 10:36 | Good find. I've got the part off page 11. Can't tell which is internal vs. external spend, but it does give an idea of scale. Geographic support 361 FTE and $67.7 million: The Census Bureau has developed the computer-based Geographic Support System, which integrates large volumes of information from many external sources to establish and maintain accurate geographic boundaries, address ranges, and other map information. These data are stored in an address list and associated geographic databases. This information must be updated on a regular basis to meet the needs of the economic census, the current demographic statistics programs, and the intercensal demographic estimates program. This funding total reflects administrative savings of $1.4 million and 1 FTE. | yump |
