EMS-Chemie Holding AG (EMSN.EB) will achieve record results in 2010, the Swiss specialty chemical company's chief executive officer told employees, without being more specific.
"All told, the EMS group will achieve record results this year, better than any we ever had," Magdalena Martullo told employees at a Christmas celebration, which was shown on Swiss national television late Wednesday as part of a documentary.
Results in Asia have nearly doubled compared with pre-crisis levels, she said, adding that the company invested heavily there during the economic downturn.
The company had already been optimistic about this year's performance when it announced nine-month results in October, saying it expected considerably higher net sales and net operating income in 2010 than in the previous year.
