Check our SBI xrp SBI banking group are launching a 2+ trillion Yen per day volume trial in the xrp network in March.Big liquidity test. Also this video about the interledger and the IMF and the central bank system. https://youtu.be/NsuY9FY1OKsIt's 2 hrs long. If you want to skip the relevance to Ripple just go to the bit with Christine Lagard talking in Singapore last year at 1hr 30. Ripple are at the centre of what she's going about as you will learn from the rest of the material and also see my earlier post download about interoperability. Not sure when the XRP price will go up but the theory is liquidity is key and a new system is being adopted over time.Enjoy. HODL.

Added more at .29 and 0.3 over the last 3-4 months now, ready for the next rise. Should see this breaking 0.6 easily all the way back to Dec 2017 highs. Cant say the time frame, but market slowly hotting up again.

Day trading can be dangerous as the xrp price currently follows the bitcoin trend which is at the moment the on and off ramp to the crypto exchanges.
I'm in this this for the medium to long term. My belief is that a bull run is coming soon for all the coins and also that xrp will have more fiat trading pairs which will gradually separate xrp from the BTC trends.

I'm pleased for you. We've all lost money on an interesting idea and I'm trying to quit the habit.

OK and thanks for the answer but I wonder how they are releasing them from escrow. www.ripple.com stress that the management of XRP is nothing to do with them and all queries must go through the exchanges. In any case... I don't believe the releases are reflecting on WCI:

6--Ripple--XRP--ripple--$ 435.75M--40.20B--$ 20.00B

But assuming they have released 12 billion in the last twelve months and with 48B to go....well, that will give them price stability!

However, capital gain for the likes of you and I....I doubt it.

60 billion left are in an escrow. They are being released by the Ripple company to the markets at rate of 1 billion per month until escrow is exhausted.

Hectorp: XRP is the epic.
Anyone care, join me on XRP thread

Thanks for the invite and I'm looking at it. Two things are bothering me.

1: The smaller problem.

The whole digital currency world seems to run in lock-step with Bitcoin. If BTC is overvalued then what will stop XRP falling with it?

2: The bigger problem.

Where's the pay off? Ripple is a slick product (seemingly)and I can believe that in about five years it might be popular but Ripple is a privately held company and owning XRP coins doesn't entitle you to any of the booty in that company. On the contrary...in order for Ripple Net to work effectively the owners of Ripple would prefer a very stable price for XRP. And I can believe they might get it with the 100 billion they created! I know the World Coin Index quotes 40 billion but it means another 60 billion is sloshing around somewhere. On ripple.com....FAQ's

"9. Can Ripple create more XRP?
No. Ripple the company didn’t create XRP; 100 billion XRP was created before the company was formed, and after Ripple was founded, the creators of XRP gifted a substantial amount of XRP to the company."

I'd like to be wrong....over to you.

Brad Garlinghouse is making a huge huge business here.
Check out this hyperledger interoperability project ripple are entrenched in.
The slides at the end are a great illustration to look at.

they rose 4% yesterday.
the recent weakness has stabilised at what I think is presently a good buy price.

This one could take off soon. Rumours they are catching a percentage of the global settlement traffic. 10% of Swift traffic would take xrp price to the moon with trillions of USD in value turned over every day.
The crypto world is now getting mainstream investment corps opening up exchanges.
This is the fastest and most fluid Blockchain there is.

Take a look at the companies involved in Ripple on their home page. Santander, Google. SBI. RBC. Amex. Barclays to name a few.
The guys running it all went to the same universities as the many fin corp leaders. (And the Fed Reserve).
Lots of real world applications already in use for this one.
If you do crypto hold on to some XRP for the bull run coming up.

Thanks Mattybuoy,

Couple of downsides to Revolut, not really relevant to the crypto side, but worth noting.

You'll be asked for further ID checks when you try to withdraw cash (making the quick sign up a bit of a marketing gimmick). You have to send a picture of your driving license and a picture of yourself. All very painless, done within the app and I was verified in minutes. I've heard that other people have had issues though.

There are several limits on the use of the account, withdrawals from cash machines being a big one, set at £200 per month (charges beyond that point). There's also a limit on annual deposits, think it's £25K... not sure about withdrawals. You can get the information from your profile in the app.

I was on the verge of making it a primary account, but it's not suitable for that purpose.

Also be aware that there are charges to get debit cards beyond your first.

All pretty minor inconveniences if your using it for travel and crypto, but they kill it as a primary use account.

al101uk,

Thank you for making me aware of Revolut. It will be very useful to me going forward.

I have tipped you a couple of PLUS1.

Well that Ripple buy didn't pay off, other than to re-teach me that I am not a trader or a speculator.

Cost me £100... ah well, time to leave the crypto world and get back to giving my portfolio the TLC it deserves.

I can enjoy myself a little on the completely undeserved profit that my £300 generated. My first withdrawal from Coinbase has hit my bank account, the second should do so tomorrow and the third will probably be started tonight.

Good luck to those that remain, it's been a fun learning experience and I'll definitely be poking my nose in to keep an eye on the general crypto world from here on.
