COTI, a leading Web3 privacy layer, has announced its cross-chain privacy protocol following a successful proof of concept. COTI is set to offer privacy-on-demand for enterprises, decentralized applications (dApps), and builders across 70 supported chains. The new functionality aims to provide fast and scalable confidentiality for both EVM and non-EVM networks, serving a wide range of DeFi and web3 applications.

Today’s announcement marks a major milestone for Web3. For the first time, developers will be able to access COTI’s advanced privacy technology directly from their native chains, without changing their underlying tech stack. COTI’s privacy layer, powered by Garbled Circuits and developed in collaboration with Soda Labs, is engineered to meet enterprise-scale demands with programmable privacy features that allow users to turn privacy on or off as needed.

Earlier this month, COTI’s team successfully completed its first cross-chain transaction, powered by Axelar. Following the successful proof of concept the team will work to fully integrate Axelar’s Amplifier technology to enable cross-chain privacy across all of its 71 connected networks.

One of the biggest barriers to widespread blockchain adoption has been the lack of privacy on open, public chains. Many businesses cannot integrate fully with decentralized technologies because they need to be able to balance transparency and privacy to meet regulatory compliance.
