National Australia Bank Ltd. on Tuesday confirmed that it is in talks to buy Citigroup Inc.'s Australian Consumer business.
The Australian lender said it regularly assesses opportunities to acquire businesses that support its growth strategy in core banking markets.
National Australia Bank issued a brief statement following media speculation, and said there is no certainty that the talks will lead to a deal.
