Prospect located in Soledad

Mariana Resources Ltd, the AIM quoted exploration and development company focused in Peru and southern Argentina, announces positive results from its first drill hole of a 2000m campaign at the copper-gold-silver Soledad prospect in Peru located in the prospective Cordillera Negra metallogenic province approximately 34 km to the south of the Pierina gold-silver mine operated by Barrick Gold Corporation.

Mariana has an option to earn a 70% interest in Soledad, which is fully drill permitted, through its agreement with tenement owners Condor Resources Inc. (TSXV:CN).

Overview:

– 2000m diamond drill programme underway testing various targets within areas A to D
– The first hole SDH-001 is a twin of previous hole DDH5 (Rio Amarillo 1996) at Breccia 1, and was drilled in order to confirm the breccia pipe style mineralisation at Soledad
– SDH-001 intersected breccia-hosted sulphide mineralisation within the pipe with 33m @ 1.0% Cu, 3.2 g/t Au, 23 g/t Ag from 58m, including 21m @ 1.5% Cu, 4.7 g/t Au, 34 g/t Ag, from 59m
– The DDH 5 intersection is comparable to SDH-001: 28.5m @ 1.1% Cu, 5.0 g/t Au, 28 g/t Ag, from 55.5m
– Three other intersections at Breccia 1 were reported by Rio Amarillo*: DDH3 – 61.5m @ 1.8% Cu, 1.9 g/t Au, 146 g/t Ag from 68m, DDH2 – 33.0m @ 2.5 g/t Au from 72m and DDH 10 – 48m @ 2.6% Cu, 0.9g/t Au, 60 g/t Ag from 176m
– The cluster of 8 breccia pipes at Soledad, of which Breccia 1 is known to be well mineralised indicate potential for intrusive-related mineralisation at depth (Fig 2 & 5))
– High level porphyry style alteration and mineralisation was intersected in SDH-002 (88.5m) and SDH-003 (268.5m) at the northern Cima Blanca target area, with assays pending (Fig 5)
– Further updates will be released as the drill programme progresses

Chief Executive Officer, Glen Parsons commented, “These high grade copper and gold results for the twin hole at Breccia pipe 1 are extremely encouraging in terms of the system’s potential, and our confidence has certainly increased as we move forward. What is particularly encouraging is the development of the exploration model based on a large mineralised porphyry system at depth. We are now targeting untested areas away from Breccia 1.”

“As mentioned before the mobilisation at Condor has been impacted by severe unseasonal weather. However recently we have observed weather improvements with logistics being resolved and community expectations being managed. We do anticipate drilling will re-commence in the near future.”
