In recent years new tech has meant people who want to learn about the markets struggle.
They find it hard to read books about trading. What they tell me they want are “bite size pieces” of learning.
And they prefer to listen to the info rather than read.
From my understanding this is mainly those 35 and under with those over generally happy to spend time over a whole book.
I don’t mean to stereotype but that’s the general feeling I get.
I wondered how I could get bite size bits out there to help out with those wanting to make a few quid on the market.
Lucky for me I got contacted by Global Radio which wanted to do a podcast doing market learning in small chunks.
So, once a week I chat to Radio X presenter Steve Ferdinando who at age 30 wants to start investing but knows nothing about the markets.
We record the chat and cover one topic a week and he asks the questions.
We thought it best to have real money in so we put 3k into an ISA each and buy and sell shares in it adding that to the chat.
The first few episodes are done – initially covered are ISAs, dividends and the buy and sell spreads.
And find out which shares we are looking at. Steve’s homework is to come up with two ideas a week.
