Motive Television plc (LSE:MTV) share price was up 22.0% this morning on the news of a new contract and other pending potential projects.
A Transformational Deal
Motive, with a market cap of £2.79 million announced a five year agreement with CET 21, a subsidiary of Central European Media Enterprises (CME), to provide its Television Anytime Anywhere™ platform to be the foundation for the launch of the new CET 21 Voyo on-demand television service in the Czech Republic. The project is stated to begin this month, July 2012, and to be completed in early 2013. Motive will function as the systems integrator for the project and will supply both engineering and operational services. Motive has the opportunity to earn milestone incentives as well as monthly fees based on the number of subscribers who sign up once the service is launched.
Because Voyo was initially introduced in the Czech Republic in 2011, and then introduced in several other European markets, Motive is hinting that this contract is significant not only in and of itself, but also that it is an open door to the other five countries where CME is located. There are over 50 million customers with the operational sphere of CME.
Executive Perspectives
Motive CEO, Leonard Fertig, said that this is “a transforming deal for Motive, as it again confirms the value of our Television Anytime Anywhere platform against competitors and validates the Company’s business model.”
