In the UK, the balance of firms reporting total order book above normal unexpectedly rose to a level of 10.00 in November, compared to market expectations of a drop to a reading of -7.00. In the prior month, the balance of firms reporting total order book above normal had registered a level of -6.00.
UK CBI trends selling prices eased in November
CBI trends selling prices in the UK dropped to a level of 9.00 in November, compared to a reading of 10.00 in the previous month.
Swiss trade surplus expanded in October
Trade surplus in Switzerland widened to a level of CHF 2.64 billion in October, following a revised trade surplus of CHF 1.27 billion in the previous month.
US building permits slid in October
In the US, building permits dropped 0.60%, on monthly basis, to an annual rate of 1263.00 K in October, higher than market expectations of 1260.00 K. In the previous month, building permits had registered a revised level of 1270.00 K.
US housing starts rose in October
Housing starts in the US climbed 1.50%, on monthly basis, to an annual rate of 1228.00 K in October, meeting market expectations 1228.00 K. Housing starts had recorded a revised level of 1210.00 K in the previous month.
