In February, the balance of firms reporting total order book above normal dropped to -17.00 in the UK. The balance of firms reporting total order book above normal had registered a level of -15.00 in the prior month.
Euro-zone services PMI registered a surprise drop in February
Compared to a reading of 53.60 in the previous month the flash services PMI fell unexpectedly to a level of 53.00 in February, in the Euro-zone. Markets were expecting services PMI to record a steady reading.
Euro-zone composite PMI dropped in February
The preliminary composite PMI dropped to 52.70 in the Euro-zone, in February, compared to a reading of 53.60 in the previous month. Market expectation was for composite PMI to ease to a level of 53.50.
Euro-zone manufacturing PMI declined in February
The flash manufacturing PMI registered a drop to 51.00 in February, in the Euro-zone, compared to market expectations of a drop to 52.00. The manufacturing PMI had recorded a reading of 52.30 in the prior month.
German services PMI rose unexpectedly in February
In Germany, the flash services PMI advanced unexpectedly to a level of 55.10 in February, compared to a reading of 55.00 in the previous month. Market anticipation was for services PMI to record a steady reading.
German manufacturing PMI slid in February
In February, the flash manufacturing PMI dropped to 50.20 in Germany, compared to a level of 52.30 in the previous month. Market expectation was for manufacturing PMI to drop to a level of 52.00.
French services PMI registered a drop in February
The preliminary services PMI in France recorded a drop to 49.80 in February. Services PMI had recorded a level of 50.30 in the prior month.
French manufacturing PMI advanced in February
In February, the flash manufacturing PMI in France advanced to 50.30. In the prior month, manufacturing PMI had registered a reading of 50.00.
Italian CPI eased in January
In Italy, the final consumer price index (CPI) registered a drop of 0.20% on a MoM basis, in January. The CPI had registered a flat reading in the previous month. The preliminary figures had also indicated a drop of 0.20%.
Italian EU normalised CPI slide in January
The final EU normalised CPI slid 2.20% on a MoM basis in Italy, in January. The EU normalised CPI had registered a drop of 0.10% in the previous month. The preliminary figures had also indicated a drop of 2.20%.
Swiss M3 money supply advanced in January
In Switzerland, M3 money supply registered a rise of 1.40% in January on a YoY basis. M3 money supply had advanced by a revised 1.70% in the prior month.
Swiss producer and import price index recorded a drop in January
In January, on a monthly basis, the producer and import price index in Switzerland recorded a drop of 0.40%. The producer and import price index had registered a similar fall in the prior month.

In Switzerland, the producer and import price index eased 5.30% in January on an annual basis. In the previous month, the producer and import price index had registered a drop of 5.50%.
US Chicago Fed national activity index advanced in January
In January, the Chicago Fed national activity index recorded a rise to 0.28 in the US, compared to a level of -0.22 in the previous month.
US Markit manufacturing PMI slid in February
The flash Markit manufacturing PMI in the US fell to a level of 51.00 in February, compared to a level of 52.40 in the prior month.
Japanese supermarket sales registered a rise in January
Supermarket sales registered a rise of 2.30% in Japan on a YoY basis, in January. Supermarket sales had recorded a flat reading in the previous month.
