UK construction PMI registered a drop in November
The construction PMI recorded a drop to 55.30 in November, in the UK, lower than market expectations of a fall to 58.50. In the prior month, the construction PMI had recorded a reading of 58.80.
Eurozone PPI dropped less than expected in October
On a monthly basis, the producer price index (PPI) recorded a drop of 0.30% in the Eurozone, in October, lower than market expectations for a fall of 0.40%. The PPI had fallen by a revised 0.40% in the previous month.
Number of people unemployed in Spain eased in November
The number of people unemployed registered a drop of 27.10 K in Spain, in November, more than market expectations of a decline of 6.50 K. Number of people unemployed had recorded an increase of 82.30 K in the prior month.
US New York City current business condition index recorded a drop in November
In November, the New York City current business condition index registered a drop to 60.70 in the US, compared to market expectations of a drop to 58.00. The New York City current business condition index had recorded a reading of 65.80 in the prior month.
Private sector employment in the US recorded a rise in November
The private sector employment advanced by 217.00 K in the US, in November, higher than market expectations of an advance of 190.00 K. The private sector employment had recorded a revised increase of 196.00 K in the prior month.
US unit labour costs in non-farm businesses rose more than expected in 3Q 2015
The final unit labour costs in non-farm businesses registered a rise of 1.80% in the US on a quarterly basis in 3Q 2015, more than market expectations for an advance of 1.00%. The preliminary figures had indicated a rise of 1.40%. In the prior quarter, the unit labour costs in non-farm businesses had dropped by a revised 1.80%.
US non-farm business productivity rose as expected in 3Q 2015
In the US, the final non-farm business productivity registered a rise of 2.20% on a quarterly basis in 3Q 2015, compared to a revised rise of 3.50% in the previous quarter. Markets were anticipating the non-farm business productivity to rise 2.20%. The preliminary figures had indicated an advance of 1.60%.
US mortgage applications slid in the last week
Mortgage applications in the US registered a drop of 0.20% on a weekly basis, in the week ended 27 November 2015. In the prior week, mortgage applications had dropped 3.20%.
Bank of Canada maintained its key interest rate
The Bank of Canada maintained its key interest rate at 0.50%. Markets were anticipating the central bank to keep its key interest rate unchanged at 0.50%.
Japanese Markit composite PMI remained steady in November
In Japan, Markit composite PMI remained steady at 52.30 in November.
Foreign investors turned net sellers of Japanese stocks in the previous week
Foreign investors turned net sellers of ¥54.60 billion worth of Japanese stocks in the week ended 27 November 2015, from being net buyers of a revised ¥199.00 billion worth of Japanese stocks in the previous week.
Foreign investors remained net buyers of Japanese bonds in the previous week
Foreign investors were net buyers of ¥217.60 billion worth of Japanese bonds in the week ended 27 November 2015, as compared to being net buyers of a revised ¥854.30 billion worth of Japanese bonds in the previous week.
Japanese investors turned net sellers of foreign bonds in the previous week
Japanese investors turned net sellers of ¥156.70 billion worth of foreign bonds in the week ended 27 November 2015, from being net buyers of a revised ¥409.00 billion worth of foreign bonds in the previous week.
Japanese investors remained net buyers of foreign stocks in the previous week
Japanese investors remained net buyers of ¥52.90 billion worth of foreign stocks in the week ended 27 November 2015, from being net buyers of a revised ¥341.70 billion worth of foreign stocks in the prior week.
Japanese corporate loans & discounts registered a rise in October
In Japan, corporate loans & discounts registered a rise of 3.32% on a YoY basis, in October. In the prior month, corporate loans & discounts had registered a rise of 2.87%.
Chinese Caixin composite PMI climbed in November
Caixin composite PMI in China climbed to 50.50 in November. In the previous month, Caixin composite PMI had registered a level of 49.90.
Chinese Caixin/Markit services PMI index dropped in November
The Caixin/Markit services PMI index in China eased to 51.20 in November. In the prior month, the Caixin/Markit services PMI index had registered a level of 52.00.
