Trezor has pulled the curtain back on two exciting developments: the Safe 5, their most secure and user-friendly hardware wallet yet, and the Trezor Expert service, a personalized onboarding program for new crypto users. Let’s explore how this new hardware wallet and personalized setup service can take the guesswork out of securing your crypto.

A Quick Sneek Peek
Trezor has pulled the curtain back on two exciting developments: the Safe 5, their most secure and user-friendly hardware wallet yet, and the Trezor Expert service, a personalized onboarding program for new crypto users.

This flagship device boasts a vibrant color touchscreen with haptic feedback thanks to the Trezor Touch engine, making navigating your crypto a breeze. But security remains paramount. The Safe 5 utilizes an NDA-free, EAL 6+-certified Secure Element, safeguarding your sensitive data and cryptographic operations with cutting-edge protection.

For enhanced security and peace of mind, the Safe 5 introduces a revamped 20-word backup process. This allows users to transition from the standard single-share backup to the advanced multi-share backup. Utilizing Shamir’s Secret Sharing, the Multi-Share Backup splits your master key into multiple unique shares, eliminating a single point of failure. Even if some shares are lost, you can still access your crypto holdings. Trezor even offers a 20-word Trezor Keep Metal solution ($99) to safeguard your backup phrases from the elements and physical damage.

Encased in shatter-resistant Gorilla Glass, it comes in a range of sleek finishes like black graphite, violet ore, and green beryl. This hardware wallet goes beyond basic storage. It’s a multi-cryptocurrency powerhouse, supporting Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and thousands more. Whether you’re a seasoned hodler or a crypto newcomer, the Safe 5 empowers you to securely store, manage, stake, and use your digital assets with confidence.

For on-the-go management, the Trezor Suite desktop and mobile apps keep you connected to your crypto empire. Plus, Trezor integrates seamlessly with a network of third-party services, allowing you to tailor your crypto experience to your specific needs.
Bitcoin purists rejoice! Trezor offers a Bitcoin-only edition of the Safe 5. This streamlined version removes unnecessary features and code, providing a laser focus on the king of crypto. Building on the success of the limited-edition Bitcoin-only Trezor Safe 3, Trezor now offers both the Safe 3 and Safe 5 Bitcoin-only versions in a fiery orange hue—a limited edition for the true Bitcoin maximalists.

Trezor Unveils Safe 5 and Personalized Onboarding Service at BTC Prague
At BTC Prague 2024, Trezor CEO Matěj Žák unveiled two exciting developments: the Trezor Safe 5, their most secure and user-friendly hardware wallet to date, and the Trezor Expert service.

Trezor Expert addresses a common pain point for new hardware wallet users: the lack of confidence and knowledge during setup. This personalized service offers one-on-one online onboarding sessions, guiding users through the process and easing concerns about making mistakes. The goal is to empower users with self-custody by demystifying basic security concepts and best practices for managing digital assets.

Sessions are available seven days a week, allowing users to book at their convenience, regardless of location. The interactive format encourages users to engage with specialists, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the entire process. Trezor emphasizes that customer privacy remains paramount; only the user retains knowledge of their wallet backup and other sensitive information.

Žák reportedly stated, “We recognized that newcomers to hardware wallets often lack experience and confidence, relying on social media and online searches for guidance. Trezor Expert offers a solution: personalized support from a trusted brand known for its commitment to security.”

Beyond setup assistance, Trezor Expert delves into the nuances of self-custody, covering topics like private key management and safe online practices.

The Trezor Safe 5 is now available for preorder at $169. The Bitcoin-only and Black Graphite versions will ship in early July, while Green Beryl and Violet Ore are expected by mid-August. Trezor Expert can be purchased for $99 on the Trezor e-shop.
