Orsted said Thursday it is moving ahead with the Farranrory
onshore wind farm in Tipperary, Ireland, after taking a final
investment decision.
The wind farm will consist of nine wind turbines and have the
capacity to generate 43.2 megawatts of green electricity, enough to
power 25,000 Irish homes. The company didn't disclose financial
terms.
The Danish renewable energy developer said the Farranrory
project will be its 22nd wind farm on the island of Ireland and
will bring the company's operational capacity across solar power
and onshore wind in Ireland and Northern Ireland to over 500
megawatts.
Farranrory is expected to be fully operational by the summer of
2026, it said.
