Chloride Group PLC ("Chloride") has today received notification pursuant to
Section 198 of the Companies Act 1985 ("the Act") that The Royal Bank of
Scotland Group plc for itself and on behalf of The Royal Bank of Scotland plc
(together "RBS plc") now has, for the purposes of Section 208 and 209 of the
Act, a notifiable interest in 7,657,080 Ordinary shares of 25p each ("Shares")
in Chloride being 3.08% of the issued share capital of Chloride. The
notification states that none of the shares comprising the interest of RBS plc,
relate to interests as mentioned in Section 208(5) of the Act.

The previous position notified by RBS plc was on 13 June 2003, when its interest
in 8,040,969 shares was disclosed.
