Chloride Group PLC has today received notification pursuant to Section 198 of
the Companies Act 1985 ("the Act") that following a review of business, The
Royal Bank of Scotland International Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of The
Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc, incorporated in Jersey) has established that a
further 2,402,114 Ordinary Shares of 25p each in Chloride ("Shares"), which are
held by Royal Bank of Scotland International Limited as loan security, are
notifiable pursuant to Section 198 of the Act.

Accordingly, for the purposes of Sections 208 and 209 of the Act, The Royal Bank
of Scotland Group plc, for itself and on behalf of The Royal Bank of Scotland
plc (together "RBS plc"), now has a notifiable interest in 10,208,211 Shares,
being 4.11% of the issued share capital of Chloride. The notification states
that none of the shares comprising the interest of RBS plc, relate to interests
as mentioned in Section 208(5) of the Act.

The previous position notified by RBS plc was on 1 April 2003, when its interest
in 8,154,297 (3.29%) Shares was disclosed.
