Prudential plc in accordance with Part VI of the Companies Act 1985 (as amended)
that Prudential plc, which includes the interest of Prudential Assurance Company
Limited, has a notifiable interest in 29,574,723 ordinary shares of 25p each in
Chloride, being 11.92% of the issued ordinary share capital of Chloride.

The previous position notified by Prudential plc was on 23 April 2003, when an
interest in 30,124,723 (12.14%) Chloride ordinary shares was disclosed.
