SINGAPORE--Cebu Air Inc. (CEB) has signed a deal with Allegiant Air, a unit of Allegiant Travel Company (ALGT), to sell six of its used Airbus Group (EADSY) A319 jets for an undisclosed amount.
Cebu Air, which operates as Cebu Pacific, will deliver the six planes to the Las Vegas-based budget carrier starting this year through 2016 and replace them with the bigger A321neo model aircraft, according to a statement from the company.
"This agreement is in line with CEB's efforts to continuously improve operational efficiency by replacing and upgrading our fleet with the larger, more fuel efficient, and longer range A321neo aircraft," said Lance Gokongwei, president and chief executive of Cebu Pacific.
The Philippine budget carrier currently operates a fleet of 54 aircraft.
