On 15 April 2011 the company's shares were delisted from the Alternative Investment Market (AIM).
Western & Oriental plc entered Voluntary Liquidation on 25 January 2013. Paul W Ellison and Gareth Roberts of KRE Corporate Recovery LLP were appointed as Joint Liquidators.

The Liquidators have stated "At this stage it is currently unknown if there will be sufficient funds available to enable to dividend to be paid to unsecured creditors, as it is dependent on the level of realisations achieved for the Company's shareholding in its subsidiary company." (Source, Letter to shareholders, 28th January 2013)

We will write to you if the company makes a payment to shareholders or if the shares are declared nil value.

Please note that Western & Oriental plc has also recently changed its name to "Welby Holdings plc". Your portfolio has been updated to reflect this change.

Theyve got away with it...KUMAR gets the travel business for a measly sum and PAVLOS gets the events business and can do as he pleases cos WEST is delisted!! WELL DONE to the two of them..us shareholders are shafted but what do they care...Theyve got away with it!!
KUMAR AND PAVLOS MUST BE DELIGHTED...NOONE HAS STODD IN THEIR WAY...SHAREHOLDERS CAN SELL AT 0.2P WHILE THEY GET THE BUSINESSES FOR A NOMINAL SUM.NO WONDER PAVLOS WANTS A DELISTING,HE CAN NOW DO AS HE PLEASES.WHAT A SHAME ANDREW NEILL LEFT,HE WAS ONLY ONE WHO WOULD PROBABLY STAND UP TO THEM.its a DIGRACE

I cant fathom what Raj Kumar is doing during this erosion of his capital in west.
He has 28m shares which have halved in value since he agreed to purchase the travel unit ????
Sometimes we pi,s give directors credit for being far less devious than they really are [nudge nudge ]

Re WEST I found this.

Little and large

Regular readers will know that I don't tend to buy many individual stocks, as I prefer vehicles, however esoteric, that give me exposure to my favourite themes. But this month I've made an exception.

The only new holding I've added is specialist upmarket travel operator Western and Oriental. I happen to write about the travel sector for another publication and I've been tracking this minnow for some months now. It is worth just under £4m yet has cash on the books of around £6m and is capable of turning over between £40 and £50m, even in a poor year.

There are numerous structural problems with the travel industry and I wouldn't want anyone to believe that this small investment isn't a big gamble, but I think the travel sector will eventually re-rate upwards as capacity is taken out and cash flows start to increase again. W&O was loss making in the last six months but there's every reason to expect the second half to be much stronger. Very speculative but I'm happy to sit tight

I have been trying to sell 50000 WEST at 1.50 this morning, nothing done, tried to fill and kill 125k 50k 250k all failed.
It then traded at 1.57 so I left an order for the last two hours to sell 50000 at 1.55, been out, see that over 27 million have traded the price now 1.60 - 1.70 so obviously my order has been done , go to get the details NOTHING DONE!!!!

knowing,if they dispose of something after the strategic review,do you think they will return money to shareholders through a special dividend or some other way?
