              Planning approved for redevelopment of Hampton Site
                                     and
                               Trading Update

Hampton Site

Wellington Holdings plc, the manufacturer and distributor of specialist polymer
seals for engineering and industrial applications worldwide, announces that
Richmond Borough Council has now approved the overall scheme for the
construction of a new factory of 7,956 square metres on part of Wellington's
present Hampton Site, Middlesex.

It is expected that the sale and leaseback arrangements to sell the site for
#6.5 million in cash, announced at the AGM on 26 May 2004 will be completed
within the next few weeks. Construction work is scheduled to commence according
to plan in the last quarter of 2004.


Trading Update

Trading has continued to be strong since the announcement at the AGM on 26 May
2004 and, despite the weak dollar, underlying results for the six months ended
30 June 2004 are expected to be well ahead of those achieved in the same period
last year.
