You realise that Verizon, as VZC, is no longer being quoted on here, as the ticker no longer exists on the LSE?

As there is no such entity as 'VZC' anymore might it be more appropriate to transfer operations to VZ? Despite 'VZC' still being apparently quoted on the charts above.

As MIATA appears to no longer be around, perhaps somebody should start again from scratch on a thread for Verizon.

VZC has gone, so it's over to VZ from now on.

The deed is done:

For the record ,as sadly MIATA has probably departed this planet, divi has been $2.24 in last 12 months. Thus yield currently 4.3%. Except that withholding tax shaves it to 3.65% and forex takes it a little lower.
Just below the ftse 100 average yield of 4.2% though with the benefits/drawbacks of currency volatility.
£37 is tempting me out .

My broker, TD Waterhouse, said it would make little difference except when I am dealing I would need to go to international dealing desk.

Of course this would be the case if one were simply asking: "How can I trade in Verizon Cmmunications (VZ) - a US company." The question we need the answer to is what happens when our LSE VZC listed securitie are delisted.

Thanks wad....I am sure most know this but VZ on American exchange and VZC on UK,I got caught with this!

Probably it was originally to allow any VOD holders who wanted to to sell off their VZC holding cheaply. Though wasn't there some special arrangement to do that initially? Or am I imagining things?

Sit still. ;-)

Unfortunately the dividend is paid in $ so you can't escape the FX expense. :-(

Hope you have completed a W-8BEN form, to keep US Dividend Witholding Tax down to 15%.

Little confusing this stock! (For me anyway).
Attempted a sale today via TD; listed as VZC but traded in $ on the LSE.They will of course convert for you at TD but an expensive exercise.......always a pain this FX.Perhaps I should sit still, any thoughts?
