08/3/2006 09:11 | CR, Welcome aboard and congratulations. Results as expected despite market nerves and supposed falling knives. | piedro

07/3/2006 15:15 | LONDON (AFX) - Construction company Tolent PLC reported a 7.5 pct rise in full-year pretax profit to 4.3 mln stg, and said it plans to raise its total dividend by 53 pct to 11.5 pence. The company said it entered 2006 with a record order book of 121 mln stg, and looks forward to another profitable year. 'Construction profits were in line with our projections but property development profits from the Temple Point Office Park near Leeds fell short of expectations due to a slowdown in office demand in that area,' said chairman Stuart Gordon. The company said it hopes to recover this shortfall in 2006, and added that property investment activities in 2006 should again be profitable. | davebowler

28/2/2006 10:50 | Santangello, Any news from the company? I sent an e-mail to ...tphillipson@tolen | piedro
22/2/2006 18:58 | I was under the impression that the Preliminary Results were for the 08 March, but you are quite correct that there has not been any confirmation. As to the falling knife, I have classified it as nervous selling before the results - there seems to be a lot of it going on....DPH, TSTL,...... - I may well be wrong. | piedro
22/2/2006 18:05 | So, you have caught the falling knife Piedro. I admire your courage. Have you or anyone else contacted the company to find out when the results are due out ? If not, I will try them tommorrow. | santangello
22/2/2006 10:09 | Looks like the rebound - picked up a few. | piedro
21/2/2006 16:37 | Unbelieveable. Company now only valued around £25m! Hopefully, all the ballsy holders will be rewarded. You would surely imagine that any bad news is now well and truly factored into the share price. | santangello
21/2/2006 12:14 | Panic among the sellers! | davebowler
20/2/2006 22:40 | Santa, I was hoping for a Brewin upgrade before results...the downward tweak dashed that. Where we go from here depends on the results, and if they do come in at the new forecast levels, why?...this could be due to:- - margins falling in a competitive market (and steel price increases etc) - a loss making contract(s) - major contracts not having been practically completed by the year end. Other construction companies seem to be doing ok....as for loss making contracts I have no information though I know the client was concerned about completion date for a student hall that opened in London last September. "we do not recognise profit until a contract reaches practical completion"... could include the Roundhouse job which was originally £28m and was due to finish in May last year, but now the cost has risen and Tolent were still working on it in Jan 06...ie after the year end, so perhaps they will take the profit in the 2006 financial year. Also from the IC "A joint venture that owns a 15.5-acre site in Leeds should add profits of at least £500,000 this year.".... but my understanding is that the development is being let (Harron Homes,Yorkshire Water) rather than sold so the company will have annual rental income rather than a one off gain. All the above is just guesswork....lets wait and see what the results bring and hope that the outlook is still bright! | jeff h
20/2/2006 19:34 | Shrewd buyers returning. Looks like it will need a few more though to steady the ship. Looking at share price against forecasts, the fall looks very overdone, although the results will be the key. Initially I thought maybe employees selling, ahead of dodgy results, but surely there would have been bigger volume? Possibly the sheep syndrome, some selling by sheep who are just following the s/p. Came back of its lows today near the bell.....a good sign. Not too sure the MMs tree shake this one Piedro, it is very illiquid and after the brokers announcement this kind of turbulance was to be expected. Problem is, there is a lot of stock on the MMs books now, which it looks like they don't want. We need the results out soon to decide one way or another. With all the info Jeff H sniffs out, it would be VERY much a shock if forecasts were not met, and the statement for the next half wasn't positive. Nobody can predict the future remember............ | santangello
20/2/2006 14:41 | Is this what is called "a tree shake" ? Should be able to pick some up @ 203p | piedro
19/2/2006 13:12 | Hi Jeff... Still looks very impressive to me. No panic/selling here. Santa. | santangello
19/2/2006 11:28 | Santa, I would think it's due to Brewin Dolphin shaving this years Forecasts and as Piedro says pre-results nerves Brewins:- Y/E 31/12/05 Pre Tax £4.3m (from £4.5m) EPS 23.5 (from 24.5p) Div 11.5p Y/E 31/12/06 Pre Tax £5.0m EPS 27.3p Div 12.5p - no change .. so a 2006 P/E of 8 and 6% yield if Forecast is achieved...will have to wait for the results for more information. | jeff h
17/2/2006 22:42 | Jeff, What you make of this weeks drop ? | santangello
17/2/2006 11:25 | sp down - must be due to pre-results nerves. Low volume selling. Good opportunity for topping up.(or buying in, IMHO) | piedro
12/2/2006 20:01 | 112.50: INTEREST RATES http Commentary://quotes. March T-bonds posted a downside reversal on Friday and closed below the 10-day moving average crossing at 112-26. The low-range close sets the stage for a steady to lower opening on Monday. Stochastics and the RSI are bearish signaling that sideways to lower prices are possible near-term. If March renews this year¡¦s decline, the 75% retracement level of last fall¡¦s rally crossing at 111-13 is the next downside target. Closes above the 20-day moving average crossing at 113-15 are needed to confirm that a short-term low has been posted. | energyi

26/1/2006 19:53 | as per post 112 about £12m I think | jeff h
26/1/2006 19:19 | Excellent. How much is the contract worth ? | piedro
26/1/2006 19:05 | Tolent indeed have got the construction contract for Time Central. 'The building architects for Time Central are Lister Associates and for Robert Muckle's office fit out are Ryder HKS. The developer is Terrace Hill, the builder is Tolent and Construction Management Consultants (UK) Limited will undertake a monitoring role for Robert Muckle. Gavin Black advised Robert Muckle on the property search and negotiation. The building will incorporate 83,000 sq ft of office and ground floor brasserie.' | jeff h
23/1/2006 15:33 | March T-bonds were steady to slightly lower overnight due to profit taking as it consolidates below the 62% retracement level of the August- November decline crossing at 114-29. Stochastics and the RSI are bearish signaling that a short-term top might be in or is near. Closes below the 20- day moving average crossing at 114-08 are needed to confirm that the rally off November¡¦s low has ended. If March bonds extend the rally off November¡¦s low, the 75% retracement level of the August-November decline crossing at 115-31 is the next upside target.
