Launch of equities research and re-branding of Group as Independent
International Investment Research PLC


In its 2003 Report and Accounts, the Group signalled its intention to change its
name to better reflect its core activities.

At an EGM held on 26 May, a resolution was passed to change the name to
Independent International Investment Research PLC.  Accordingly, this will take
effect on confirmation from Companies House.  At the same time, the ticker for
the company will change to IIR, and the Group will launch its new website at
www.iirgroup.com

The Group expects the name, in common usage, will be abbreviated to "Independent
II Research".

Further, the name of the Group's majority-owned subsidiary which was established
in 2002 to address research into global equities, has changed from WTV (Media)
Limited to Independent Financial Markets Research Limited.

Group chief executive Shane Smith comments:  "The appetite for independent
research in all asset classes is growing apace, but particularly for equity
research and particularly in the US.  We have been providing foreign exchange
research since 2001, and we have been working on the equities product since
2002.  Last year, the Global Research Analyst Settlement in the US, worth more
than $430m over five years, gave the independent research market a very
substantial boost and we have been working with key figures involved in the
Settlement to refine our offering so that it closely meets the requirements of
the investment banking community.  Our new branding conveys to our target market
the message about what we do, in the most effective language possible".
