Notice of Allowance for Second Crackle-baked(R) Patent Application

Tekcapital plc (AIM: TEK), an international provider of technology and intellectual property services, is pleased to announce that it has received the Notice of Allowance for a second patent application relating to the Crackle-baked(R) process from the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This second patent (U.S. Patent Application Serial No. 14/962,823) is expected to be issued shortly and will be exclusively licensed to Tekcapital from the University of Arkansas under the existing exclusive license agreement, as announced on 27 January 2015.

The Directors believe that Crackle-baked(R) process has the potential to enable consumers who enjoy fried foods to benefit from a healthier diet by consuming baked food that has the taste, texture and appearance of fried food, but with a much lower fat concentration. The Board believes that improving the nutritional content of widely consumed fried foods in particular, is an important focus for food companies worldwide.

Commenting on the announcement, Dr. Clifford M.
