Britannic Global Income Trust plc announces that it has today received
notification from Aberdeen Asset Management Limited that the number of Ordinary
shares of 1p each in the Company in which Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust PLC
have a notifiable interest has reduced by 1,500,822 shares.

The total number of shares now managed by Aberdeen Asset Management PLC's fund
management operating subsidiaries is 13,965,064 representing 19.60% of the
issued share capital (previously 21.71%).

The 13,965,064 shares are held as follows:-

Aberdeen High Income Trust PLC              -      3,128,364
Aberdeen Convertible Income Trust PLC       -      2,000,000
Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust PLC         -              0
St David's Investment Trust Plc             -      6,200,000
