Sphere Medical Expands Sales into Belgium

Sphere Medical Holding plc (AIM: SPHR.L), a leading provider of innovative monitoring and diagnostic devices for the critical care setting, announces the first sale of its Proxima system in Belgium with an initial order to the Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel, a 700 bed teaching hospital conducting scientific research, which has evaluated the Proxima system during the past year.

After the UK and Germany, Belgium is the third country in which Sphere Medical has sold Proxima devices through its direct sales force.

Dr Wolfgang Rencken, Chief Executive Officer of Sphere Medical, said: "Proxima is an innovative product which offers better patient management during a patient's critical period, and faster and more frequent production of blood gas, electrolyte and metabolite results. We are pleased to bring Proxima to patients around Europe and report sales in three countries now. As we look ahead to the launch of Proxima 4, the opportunity to increase potential coverage from around 10% of critical care patients to 40-50% gives us optimism for the future."
