01/8/2007 16:41 | Oil price rises to all-time high Demand from US refineries has increased for six successive weeks Oil prices have climbed to a record high of $78.71 a barrel amid worries about whether oil supplies can meet global demand. | jimarilo
31/7/2007 23:47 | N.Y. Oil Rises to a Record Close on Signs Supply Is Inadequate By Mark Shenk July 31 (Bloomberg) -- Crude oil rose to a record close of $78.21 a barrel in New York on speculation demand will outpace supply as refiners increase fuel production. Bets on rising prices by hedge funds and other speculators rose to a record earlier this month, according to U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission data. Global demand will climb 1.7 percent in 2008, showing no sign of slowing because of high prices, a Deutsche Bank AG report showed. A government report tomorrow may show U.S. oil supplies fell for a fourth week. ``There's significant growth in global energy demand and production isn't keeping up,'' said Peter Schiff, an investment adviser and president of Euro Pacific Capital Inc., in Darien, Connecticut. ``Prices have to rise because of this imbalance. I'm sure we are going to pull above $100 a barrel in 2008.'' | jimarilo
25/7/2007 20:33 | Oil Rises After Report Shows Third Straight Weekly Supply Drop By Robert Tuttle July 25 (Bloomberg) -- Crude oil rose the most in more than nine weeks in New York after the U.S. government reported a third straight weekly decline in oil inventories and increased refinery operations. A gain in oil processing by refineries helped reduce U.S. supplies by 1.1 million barrels to 351 million barrels last week, the Energy Department report showed. Inventories in Cushing, Oklahoma, the main supply hub in the U.S., fell 1.38 million barrels to 212.4 million barrels, the lowest since February 2006. | jimarilo
23/7/2007 00:46 | The Analyst: Put a little black gold in your pocket By Mark Dampler Published: 21 July 2007 The amount of oil the world consumes is simply staggering. In fact, three billion gallons of the stuff must be produced each day just to meet demand which is enough to fill the new Wembley Stadium 12 times over. | jimarilo
20/7/2007 13:43 | Market seems to be a little slow in digesting the good news for RVA this week. Corn prices have fallen very sharply this week as weather conditions improve. Gasoline and crude oil are staying very firm. If corn retraces below $3 I would expect a sharp re-rating to begin in ethanol stocks. | nickcduk

Dreibus July 16 (Bloomberg) -- Corn may decline and soybeans may fall from a three-year high on speculation rains will revive U.S. crops harmed by a prolonged dry spell. 08/7/2007 23:11 | Oil Rises to a 10-Month High on Nigeria, North Sea Supply Risks July 6 (Bloomberg) -- Crude oil rose to a 10-month high on concern unrest in Nigeria and maintenance of a North Sea oil field will curb supply as unexpected refinery closures cut fuel output Refiners are getting around bottlenecks by making more gasoline away from the crude processing units that are usually key to their output. By blending in ethanol and processing cheaper refined products such as vacuum gasoil, refiners have been able to keep gasoline output high, amid the almost two- decade low in the refining utilization rate. | jimarilo
