Posted at 26/3/2005 08:22 by amberspyglass Spending £3m on a system like this - says it all really. 20% of their market cap on something the clients might like? This is a system a no 1 or 2, puts in, not a third or fourth. It will never pay off. Many people left Medacs to join Corinth after the £27m buyin. hope that a lot of the people from Reed wont move to join Angela Morris if she does another MBO somewhere else! If the Corinth buy in were a thriving business which had given its investors a brilliant return you would be very pleased at the arrival of one of the founders. It may be but this in information that I have. The MD of the Corinth Doctors Division has recently gone onto manage Doctors division at NHSP (government run agency set up to replace commercial agencies) - indicates where that one thinks the future is! Corinth are said to have just a lost a court case, where they tried to get £17.5m back from a purchase they made - the business decline post purchase must be a contender for the guiness book of records - they closed it after about a year. She was not involved in this deal but corinth has not been a smooth big fortune from small fortune story. |

Posted at 30/4/2003 17:53 by thinker Agree with you JPMUnfortunately the maverick Reed family have stuffed this company. I bought shares a while ago because very happy with management and prospects. Now with changes, makes it look investor unfriendly. I've come unstuck too any times with family owned companies. They have a wierd pride thing that makes them make decisions that are generally not best for the shareholders. I'm holding on because I think they will do OK eventually, and might even get bought back in. But its not going to be as quick or as easy as it should be without Reed & Co. |
