Macarthur Minerals Update

Rare Earth Minerals Plc (AIM/ISDX: REM; OTC: REMMY)) is pleased to report that Macarthur Minerals ("Macarthur") in which REM owns a 16.56% shareholding, has announced that it is receiving renewed interest in its two iron ore projects in Western Australia. The full Macarthur announcement can be found at:

.

Macarthur Minerals Limited (TSX-V: MMS) (the "Company" or "Macarthur Minerals") is pleased to announce that the Company is receiving renewed corporate interest in its two iron ore projects in Western Australia with recovery of the iron ore price from its historic lows of US$38.30[i] (approximately A$53) a tonne in December 2015 to a spot price today to US$82 (A$111) a tonne[ii]. The Ularring Hematite Project is a "shovel ready" project as it has full State and Australian Government environmental approvals to develop an iron ore mine and associated infrastructure.

David Taplin, President, CEO and Director of Macarthur Minerals, commented:

"There is real potential for our iron ore assets to again add considerable market value in the future, with the Company having previously spent over $60 million to develop them, including the hematite project to a "shovel ready" stage. Our advanced iron ore projects for hematite and magnetite remain very valuable assets, which in 2011, gave the Company a market capitalisation of approximately C$165 million. Both iron ore projects are located within 100 kilometres of a railway line, which currently transports iron ore to export facilities at the Port of Esperance in southern Western Australia. We are now observing good indications that the price of iron ore has recovered from its 2015 low of US$38.30 per tonne to a spot price today of US$82 per tonne with the advantage of a favourable exchange rate due to deprecation of the Australian dollar against US dollar.

Batteries charged to play bigger role in UK energy grid

"It may represent only a fraction of total capacity but I think the role of batteries is only going to grow. And lithium ion batteries are a much cleaner way of storing electricity.

It's coming, solar panels charging home batteries= free central heating/free electricity.

temmujin: We already have carnage on the roads. Hopefully self driving cars will reduce accidents which would otherwise arise from surfing, texting and other distractions.

Why jabba even bothering?? We all know where REM is going- 0 (zero). MM has no money to pay for Ritz party, much less to do any kind of projects. REM is going to zero, everyone loses money and I prove my point. Everyone is happy!

the electricity grid would collapse if we had thousands of electric cars charging up overnight...Musk knows this thats why he is trying to get us to have his home batteries so to take pressuse off the grid,UK has very little spare capacity and a very cold winter will endorse that..hinkley 2 will take at least 10 years to build, solar and wind will be useless if we have a winter with a blocking high pressure system, little wind and heavy frost/snow on the panels. We should be building more gas powered powered stations especially with the UK population rising fast, the people running the country havent a clue basically...UK blackouts this winter are a certainty because of these idiots.

never short...against my nature...just think lithium might be a red herring and that graphite may be the 'new' lithium...thats why ive edged my bets and invested in Alba who are going to mine the stuff in greenland...best quality graphite flakes

Graphene car batteries
Graphene batteries are the future. One company has developed a new battery, called Grabat, that could offer electric cars a driving range of up to 500 miles on a charge.

Graphenano, the company behind the development, says the batteries can be charged to full in just a few minutes. It can charge and discharge 33 times faster than lithium ion. Discharge is also crucial for things like cars that want vast amounts of power in order to pull away quickly.

The capacity of the 2.3V Grabat is huge with around 1000 Wh/kg which compares to lithium ion's current 180 Wh/kg. The best part of all this is that these batteries should be ready to go by mid way through 2016.
