             Quadrant Group plc ("Quadrant")

The Chairman of Quadrant, Lord Rees, is retiring from the
Board with effect from 16th December 1998.

Lord Rees joined the Quadrant Board in 1991 and became
Chairman in 1992.  He had planned to retire earlier, but
agreed to extend his tenure in order to see through the
recent restructuring, involving the disposal of
Quadrant's manufacturing operations in the UK and US.
This has now been successfully completed.

The Board has appointed Mr Peter Rae to take over from
Lord Rees as non-executive Chairman.  Mr Rae, aged 42 has
been a member of Quadrant's board since 1997.  He is a
graduate of Caius College, Cambridge, and formerly Chief
Executive of S.W. Wood plc (now Wyndeham Press plc).  He
has current interests in a wide range of engineering and
other businesses.

Mr David Coghlan, Chief Executive, said

"On behalf of the Board I would like to express my
sincere thanks to Lord Rees for the wise and patient way
he has guided our deliberations in often difficult times.
We will all miss his experience and good humour.

I am now looking forward to working more closely with
Peter Rae to ensure we continue recent progress and
capitalise on the potential of our growing electronics
businesses".
