meijiman: anyone have a view on the share price weakness of late?
meijiman: Does anyone look at this? The share price movement makes little sense to me. I'm not a holder but wondering whether we might be close to an entry point. High valuation but good potential.
meijiman: Trying to call this one is almost impossible in terms of share price movements. As ever its expensive but has potential.

haroldthegreat: gone very quiet here! shares are going up nicely so perhaps lack of posts = increase in share price. with the number of new products using stevia increasing the price should rocket when results are .
calahan: Ever get the feeling the share price is being held back to allow directors to fill their buy orders? If I remember correctly, the same thing happened here before back in November, and was followed by a quick spike to 280+ before falling back just as quick to where it came from. Wonder if history will repeat itself?
casper_j: Whether you like the taste or not, the important thing is that Stevia product is rapidly gaining market share in the the low end table top sweetener area. 25% already in France and in US I can't remember the figure but I think it is more than this. So people like it. This is really the low end and low margin part of the business and in the transcript Pure mention that they are not focussed on this. They are not business to consumer. Their focus is on formulations for beverage, dairy, ketchups, confectionary, cookies etc. To deliver this in scale and get repeat orders they need the control on production and supply chain. This link on their website is a good explanation Count Chris you are right about the jackpot being carbonated soft drinks. They are being very conservative on their sales forecast for this year at 30% growth. They said this does not include the CSD's as they don't know when the coke and pepsi's current stevia inventory will be exhausted. So we have to wait, but I don't think much longer given the number of trial launches. Purecircle overinvested and for a while this has been a serious drag on the share price. But they are now in a position of dominance and thankfully well capitalised. 70% of the ownership is held by just a few long term significant shareholders.
pre: indeed, this is massive news....EU my reckoning we should be heading well north of the current share very interesting to see holdings change as institutional investors come on update to come no doubt will have a significantly higher target price imo..
troc1958: I listened to their investor conference presentation this afternoon. Two main points came out of the presentation - they are geared for global growth - just a matter of time before sales go up dramatically, particularly if they get EU approval for Stevia products in November 2011, as stated. Presentation Link : Share price has come down dramatically over last two years and investors have lost total confidence in this share. I have been badly burned by this share before and very skeptical whether Management are telling the full story. Its a high risk buy but I think the share price is near its bottom and should move quickly if they do get EU approval in November. There were some large director buys at over 100p sometime ago. Share trading at 80p at the moment. Well worth adding it to the "risky" side of one's portfolio. [This is the time to buy this type of share when its "unloved" and well off the investor radar]
troc1958: Results as predicted and reflected in the already depressed price. A downward move of overall markets will no doubt push Pure's share price lower. So shorters like SC may benefit. However those who believe in the bigger "stevia" (obesity) picture will do well in the long term. Pure have geared themselves to global growth. When (not if) this growth happens they will benefit and the share price will move higher. Just a matter of time. (SC may get greedy and be burned by remaining short)
