Out of curiosity I have been looking at the AIM placing document (2006).
PFLM raised nearly £10 million @120p giving new investors about 25% of the capital.
Prospects for solar film must have looked very different then.

PS
I was wrong in saying that PFLM had $30m of liquid assets.
As at 31.12.2014 it had $17m of net current assets and $13m of fixed assets.
Unfortunately it is likely to be a long time before small shareholders see any benefit from either !

Constantly seems just abut to take off, this morning mentioned "delays in customer timing have caused the year to date results to be much lower than expected." However, and this may be through rose tinted glasses, the competitors would have suffered similar fates and most of them wouldn't have had the strong B/S that PFLM has. "Our prime competitors have disappeared", "continued shakeout of the solar industry in the US including key competitors in the military segment", "PowerFilm survives, with very few thin film competitors." Patience needed, but at current valuation levels annualizing the 1H loss, we've got ~ 2 yrs before NCAV and marketable securities equals the current market cap, but then the PPE of ~ 2x the current market cap remains as well.

Nice idea, and certainly supplements staying power; I had bought at 20 and sold at half that; PFLM ticks on but never seems to get off its base line

I too am still here.
PFLM has gone up a number of blind alleys in recent years and we can only hope that they will find one that proves more rewarding soon.
These shares are not for trading and, having been tempted into purchases at about 10p by the cash-rich balance sheet, I feel that I have no choice but to hang on.
My fear is that the company will give up its AIM quotation.

Stock

were you born an idiot or did you deteriorate? PFLM have US army contracts, get paid for R&D, and have quality niche applications too small to attract Chinese. Go back to your knitting

Pflm is just a punt.shares are difficult to trade.
Co. Is invisible in the uk, to investors and the financial community in general.
The company still has the appearance of a hobby for the principle owners.
A niche co. That's been overwhelmed by the wider solar market.
Shame.

This seems like a very good appointment. Perhaps we are going to see some action now!!

Rick Brimeyer Elected Non-Executive Chairman

5 December 2013, LONDON, UK and AMES, IOWA - PowerFilm®, Inc. For me the principal worry is that PFLM may decide as an economy to dispense with its quotation on AIM (as did Silanis, another North America based company).
The pretext might be, as with SNS, that there was very little trade in the shares and, when holders wanted to sell, the only buyers were associates of the directors based elsewhere.
For this reason the appointment of new brokers is promising even though they do not seem very committed yet.

Looking again at the recently published interim results, I see that the cash position is still very strong but it is depressing to see that PFLM are having to abandon both Building Integrated Photovoltaic and Roll to Roll Flexible products. They have probably spent lots of money on both.
It is, I suggest, worth having a look at the Bushnell Power Sync products advertised on the BPS web-site. These are, in effect, PFLM products in BPS wrappers.
It is many years since I last went camping, let alone trekking in the outback, but for those that do these products enable you to recharge your mobile devices every day wherever you are.
Apart from BPS, PFLM seems to rely almost entirely on the US military who can, at least, be counted on to pay their bills.
