                      Oriel Resources plc ('the Company')

Oriel Resources Plc ('the Company') announces that, following the recent share
placement of 26,500,000 ordinary 1p shares and issue of 9,181,352 ordinary 1p
shares as part consideration for purchase of the Voskhod chrome deposit on 8
February 2005, it has been notified of the following changes in the Company's
shareholding:

On 15 February 2005, Lansdowne Partners Limited Partnership notified the
Company, on behalf of client funds that it manages, that it controls 7,168,067
ordinary 1p shares of the Company. This now represents 3.58% of the shares in
issue.

On 10 February 2005, the Company was notified by Schroder Investment Management
Limited, that it has an interest of 7,365,000 ordinary 1p shares. This now
represents 3.68% of the shares in issue.

On 9 February 2005, the Company was notified by The Capital Group Companies
Inc., that it has an interest of 10,052,000 ordinary 1p shares. This now
represents 5.02% of the shares in issue.

On 9 February 2005, the Company was notified by Threadneedle Asset Management
Limited that, on behalf of Zurich Financial Services and its Group, Littledown
Nominees Limited's holding of notifiable interest in the Company was 14,280,881
Ordinary Shares in the Company, which are held as follows:

Limited that, on behalf of American Express Company, it no longer has a
notifiable interest in shares in the Company.
