Following the announcement on 21 September 2016, Brash Young Turks is now available globally through the Amazon Prime service and is the first high profile independent film to fully utilise this new opportunity between Nexstar and Amazon Prime. Brash Young Turks is a film by award winning British director Naeem Mahmood and features such high profile names as Julian Glover CBE of Star Wars, Game of Thrones and James Bond fame, Grime music legend D Double E and former Mayor of London Boris Johnson. The soundtrack is also being distributed by Nexstar and is now available through all major music services including Google Play, iTunes, Spotify, Deezer and Tidal. Nexstar will earn a percentage of between 15% and 20% of all the revenue earned on streaming, rental or purchase of every title it distributes through its global distribution network, which now includes the 60 million plus members of Amazon Prime. The team behind Brash Young Turks, and those of all subsequent assets published by Nexstar will have access to the largest media customer base in the world while retaining control over their art and being able to uniquely manage the whole payment process. Naeem Mahmood, Director of Brash Young Turks commented: "I'm excited to be teaming up with Nexstar as we share the same vision of raising the bar for what British independent films can accomplish and how they're distributed." Deborah White, CEO of Milestone commented: "I'm delighted to be able to announce that our first distribution deal has gone live over Amazon Prime so soon after revealing the Amazon Prime opportunity. Nexstars' product suite is perfectly positioned to be exploited by the next generation of young creatives including the target audience of our flagship initiative, Passion Project. Having award winning Naeem Mahmood's new film as our first distribution and an agreement for his next two films is an excellent endorsement of the Nexstar suit of innovative technology.
