16/4/2006 22:39 | Hi Paul In December, the C/man said "Our trading since the period end has been strong with sales for October and November alone approximately double those for the preceding entire half year. We are encouraged by strong DVD sales, high occupancy rates at Fountain, and a number of potentially profitable commissions for our production arm. We continue to seek opportunities to develop the business to create shareholder value. We remain confident that we will meet market expectations for the full year." The forecast is EPS of 6.48p and nothing to the contrary has been said since which enticed me to pick up 10k at 39p. With the NTAV not far off the current market cap there shouldn't be a lot of downside (famous last words!) Regards John | the vogon
15/4/2006 22:30 | Hi, Vogon - I bought 12k shares last week at 40.5p, doubling my holding. I agree it looks very good value, although a sudden drop of about 30% recently, on top of a long decline in price, does make you suspect that something might be going wrong. Profit warning on the cards perhaps ? On the other hand, it's a very very illiquid stock. So it could just be a seller wanting to exit & the price being forced down as a reault ? Regards, Paul. | paulypilot
13/4/2006 14:38 | Unless there is something untoward going on, MME looks good value. Anyone out there a fan of this Co. ? The Vogon | the vogon
03/6/2005 08:18 | Hello all. I am a follower of Investinmedia who own 17% of Medal Entertainment. FYI Strawberry brings Housewives to world market UK based distributor Strawberry Entertainment has gained international distribution rights to the new (1 x 60') reality documentary, Real Life Desperate Housewives. Following the global success of the US smash, Desperate Housewives, the programme takes an in-depth look at the real lives of privileged UK housewives, bored, lonely and on a mission to tell the world that they're about to crack. The show has been commissioned by UK terrestrial Five and is produced by indie Scarlet Television. It is due for transmission on Five on June 9. Caroline Holden, md of Strawberry Entertainment, said:" "The show has attracted an unprecedented level of interest from broadcasters worldwide, hungry for a new angle on this smash hit phenomenon." Strawberry Entertainment is the international sales arm of AIM listed Medal Entertainment & Media MEM plc. Scarlet Television is a joint-venture with MEM, which as well as owning distributor Strawberry Entertainment also owns audio-visual publisher DD Home Entertainment, production company MEM TV and Fountain Television | lbo

28/1/2005 16:34 | Hi, Just a snippet of mildly positive news - picked up this from my newsfeed earlier ... It says; Talent Television Limited, the wholly owned operating subsidiary of Talent Group plc, has been commissioned by the BBC to produce a further six specials of its hugely successful 'Test the Nation' format. I seem to recall this is filmed at Medal's TV studio. So should help their bookings a bit. Regards, Paul. | paulypilot
26/1/2005 19:50 | Hi, Looks like there are only about 4 of us interested in Medal. Astonishing, considering how the shares are up almost 50% in the last fortnight ! Expect the hoardes to arrive soon. This should be seen as an opportunity - if you're first on the scene to spot an undervalued share, and nobody else is interested, it's just a question of sitting & waiting for the penny to drop with other investors, who will overwhelmingly be buyers, hence providing the catalyst for the share price rising. I am hoping for strong results for y/e 31/3/2005, but could be a bit of a news vacuum until results are announced, probably in June 2005. Although hopefully the company should put out a period end trading update which (I hope) will read positively - as indicated in statements to date. Fingers crossed. Regards, Paul Scott. | paulypilot

25/1/2005 18:27 | Hi, Wow, this stock is amazing. I bought some recently at 88p, and it goes up in price every day ! What I liked about Medal was this; 1) Totally under-promoted, so plenty of upside as more investors & commentators hear about it 2) Management look credible & experienced 3) Balance sheet is robust, and has a £5m freehold on it (so could be used as security against any borrowings if trading did deteriorate) 4) Excellent outlook statements with Interims. Hence shares should get a boost when prelims come out 5) Low PER of 13.3 falling to 8.9 based on Durlacher forecasts 6) Demand for its TV studio looks good - largest independent TV studio in the UK, so ideal for shows with large audiences - eg "Ask the Nation", "X-Factor", and the Kumars at no.42 are all filmed there. 7) Makes sense to create their own TV production company, to make use of gaps in the bookings for the studio, as they have done. 8) Good growth from the DVD distribution business, and they have their own transactional websites. Interims were a bit disappointing, but full year s be a lot better, according to the commentary with interims. I hold shares in MME, please DYOR as usual. Regards, Paul Scott | paulypilot

14/12/2004 22:09 | I think it depends on your time span. A punt as in looking for a quick turn, I don't think so. But if you are prepared to hold for 18 months or so, yes. They've made great progress from virtually a start-up position three years ago and now seem to be getting some momentum (to profits at least). The problem with the share price relates in part to their being a very narrow market and also in part to the very low profile they have. They rarely get any attention from the press (though they did get a favourable mention from IC when they last made an acquisition some months back.) If they get a write-up in any magasine or tipsheet they could fly. IMHO etc. The interims tomorrow should tell us more. | tatie

13/9/2003 20:53 | I would admit to having held these and just sat on them as a 'sleeper' since the end of 2001 shortly after they floated. They seem to be a very narrow market and appear to have a lot of experience on board. Nothing wrong with their recent, initial results. Going the right way. It's just going to take a favourable press mention or a tip sheet to get them moving. Cannot recall, and I have been looking, any press mention at all. When they get noticed they should move smartly as they are still very small and at the stage when profits can increase rapidly. Jim Slater's 'Elephants can't gallop' comes to mind. At this size they can. Needless to say, check the facts for yourself. | tatie
