did anyone notice the RNS on Jan 14th on Resolute funds going over 10%

Common
Stock 7,010,000 7,010,000 - - 7,160,000 10.21%

Was trying to dig around who/what Resolute Funds were, and came to this:

hxxp://www.resolutefunds.com/

The man behind, Tom Stanley seems to be something of a conviction buyer.
Anyone care to comment?

Linton, gold looking up, but still too tentative for my liking to call the recovery. Having said that, I've already bought somewhat into POG & MML. GL. This needs to settle above £2 afaic.

Good luck, but I really caution against averaging down on a falling chart, however low it gets. Done it, been there.

You're a brave man, Linton, though the historical chart suggests you might be right, hereabouts. In 2009 the place to buy (chart wise) was £3, after which it went to 5, 10, and then 13. It's now fallen further for longer, so £2 could be an interesting place to look for support. But you'll be smiling by then! (If it doesn't plunge any further)

10% down on this statement. £1 within weeks or days? I'd appreciate the learned analysis of someone with greater understanding than myself here, as this has been on my watch to buy list for months. Easy to see the upside; question is, what are the risks of it becoming a basket case?

Will be interesting to see how far down this might go now. Nadir of 2008 was somewhere hereabouts, but could go lower, I guess. £1 anyone? Brutal times for gold, but if it goes down to that level, it would surely signal capitulation. Maybe worth waiting. POG, another case in point, just seems to go down and down.

I agree very dissappointing admission, after all the operational issues which have been largely out of their control, I would have thought managing the business as usual actvities would have cast iron controls in place.

"On November 13, 2013 the Company announced that during the second quarter, 105,670 tons were produced at a head grade of 0.35 ounces per ton ("opt") and a recovery rate of 95.17% to produce 34,935 ounces of gold. A re-examination of month-end procedures surrounding inventories and the mill circuit protocols resulted in the number of gold ounces produced being corrected to 31,387 ounces. Total production for the first two quarters of the fiscal year is therefore corrected to 61,566 ounces."

Full RNS -

That is a dreadful admission - not surprised it has knocked 14% off the share price and as far as explanations go it is almost unbelievable.
So "gold produced" is not measured by weighing the output of dore!
Seems it is just a guess at what should have come out based on what was put into the mill. How far can incompetence go?
