                          Appointment of New Director





International Consolidated Minerals Inc. ("ICMI" or the "Company") is pleased to
announce the appointment of Alfonso Brazzini as non-Executive Director with
immediate effect.

Alfonso Brazzini is the Chairman of the Board and main shareholder of
Inversiones La Rioja S.A., a Peruvian company that owns hotel properties
operated by Marriott International, Inc. He is also a board member of several
Peruvian companies in the mining consulting, insurance and real estate
businesses.

Mr Brazzini's financial and mining experience includes 10 years (1975 -1985) as
Chief Financial Officer of Compania de Minas Buenaventura (a leading gold and
silver producer in Peru).  For 15 years he owned and managed Serminco, a mineral
and metals trading firm.  From 1990 to 1996, Mr Brazzini was Chairman of the
Board and Chief Executive Officer of Banco Interandino, an Andean region bank in
which he was a main shareholder.

Mr Brazzini has also served as Chairman of Peru's Government owned bank (Banco
de la Nacion) between February and April 1984, as well as Board Member of the
Central Reserve Bank of Peru from mid 1993 until mid 1994. Mr. Brazzini has a BA
from Universidad del Pacifico (Lima, Peru) in Business Administration and
Economics and a MBA from Indiana University.

International Consolidated Minerals Inc (AIM "ICMI"), the South American focused
mineral exploration company was formed to pursue the exploration, development
and production of mineral assets with a focus in Latin America, and initially in
Peru on the Pachapaqui Mine. ICMI's strategy is to focus on the development of
high-quality mining assets at an advanced stage of development. ICMI's main
asset and current focus is on the Pachapaqui mining concession which contains
