       INCO LIMITED ANNOUNCES PRESENTATIONS ON VOISEY'S BAY PROJECT WITH
              REPRESENTATIVES OF THE INVESTMENT COMMUNITY OVER THE

                           AUGUST 18-19, 2004 PERIOD


Toronto, August 12, 2004 -- Inco Limited ("Inco") announced today that it would
be hosting presentations to the investment community on its Voisey's Bay project
in Toronto on August 18, 2004 and at the Voisey's Bay project site in Labrador,
Canada on August 19, 2004.


On August 18, 2004, Scott M. Hand, Inco's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer,
will be making a presentation in Toronto on Inco's Voisey's Bay project to an
audience that will include members of the investment community and Gord Bacon,
Inco's Vice President, Technology and Engineering, will be making a presentation
to the same group on the process technologies we expect to use in connection
with the Voisey's Bay project. These presentations are expected to begin at 7:00
p.m. (Toronto time).


On August 19, 2004, presentations to the investment community will be made at
the project site in Labrador on various aspects of the Voisey's Bay project by,
among others, Peter C. Jones, Inco's President and Chief Operating Officer, and
Phil du Toit, Managing Director, Voisey's Bay Nickel Company Limited ("VBNC").
These presentations are expected begin at 12:00 p.m.Toronto time and will
immediately be followed by a tour of the Voisey's Bay project site.


Copies of the slides and/or text to be used in connection with these
presentations to the investment community over the August 18-19, 2004 period
will be available for on-line viewing and/or printing either during or following
each presentation through the "Latest Presentations" link on Inco's website,
www.inco.com.
