I lost track of this, the original HTD thread many years ago, sadly. It doesn't seem to show up in searches. Up until yesterday, every time I logged on to ADVFN I wondered what became of Mark and now I know. I feel more sad, perhaps, than I should given that I never met Mark in person. Having said that we had several phone conversations about some of his important stuff which always seemed to drift off to the anarchic and inane.

I was a moderator on the Angry Investor site and Mark caused utter mayhem back in the day, encouraged by another poster there, who may or may not have been me. Happy days.

RIP Rupes.

We've had bald investors......fat ones.....and now we have small investors.

Whatever next?

Can small investors do as well as larger ones?

Please discuss.

Hello.....just weighing in again....in an amazing twist of events, this afternoon....Something happened.....

I'm now actually too overweight to even post on here.

14 stone and 1lb, on the dot.

Maybe I should have a rethink regarding weight limits?

No.....no.....new rules.....no short people allowed, unless they have very fat faces, yet still seem like nice people.

Not the sort of short investors who are short, and seem nice simply because they know they're hideously ugly...

No...

ugly short people will not be tolerated, therefore if anyone fitting that description was to come on this thread trying to be nice, instead of being good looking, as I am...

Forget it.

A false sense of humour isn't a replacemt for good looks or height.

You know, a bit like the small one out of the two Ronnies tried to do.

There's no excuse to be fat....or a small person...beccause all you do is target big people slimters and try and hide in amongst them.

Although the rules have been altered regarding weight....I doubt I'll shrink....so I should be safe.

Cheers.

Agreed and Andrew Baker already has 17%+ in the bag. What was comforting was listening the webcast and hearing disgruntled investors/fund managers about this takeover. Maybe there is more supporting our view than we realise

BP = Ripper. Sweary tells.

Rabbit, many commentators are saying now is a time to buy. I suspect you know the old maxim that most private investors lose because they sell at the bottom and buy at the top.

I'm not saying don't sell, but if you do sell, it may be wise to drip back into the market so you don't miss the rise.

If you have some spare time, take a look at Kenmare Resources (KMR). Don't be put off by the title. They don't mine Gold, Silver, Copper etc. Instead their products are "ilmenite" (Titanium Dioxide), "rutile" and "zircon". The mine (or rather dredge pond!) has been over a decade in the making and now they are on
the verge of producing the actual products. October / November is the expected date.

They next update the market this Thursday (28th Sept) with progress on commissioning, forward selling of their products and perhaps news on the wider license area which is currently the subject of further feasibility studies.

So put them in your monitor and see how they do!

Analysts and brokers have a rough 70p target which can be read here:

An excellent colourful "info" thread can be found here:

And for "chat" there is:

Their products should certainly excite you. While "Titanium Dioxide" they may not have the glamour of Gold or Silver, the demand and price stability couldn't be more different. It takes a lot of time and effort to exploit these resources. The existing ones are in "depletion mode" and new ones are years away.

So keep an eye out for them and see how they do. And don't be surprised if they are taken over in 6-12 months as they are very attractive in a consolidation mad sector.

Anyway this is not a ramp. Just a friendly "keep an eye" tip to watch a stock. All the usual shares publications and websites have tipped them recently advising they are to be watched closely ONCE PRODUCTION STARTS. You won't believe their expected profit margin!

John,

I am, and I have to say after reading your horsersh1t on the RPT thread you're much better suited to threads like this.

Let's be honest, John, you don't quite cut the mustard on the stock related threads do you? Is that why you're trying to 'fit in' over here ?

I know your sort John, make no mistake. You're a Clive Field model (with a couple more buttons I'll grant you)

Sort yourself out John.

I dunno, some bl00dy serious investors, eh ?

Something to consider...
Investors always take notice what the market is doing. They have learned that focusing on individual stocks is the surest way to build your investments no matter what is happening to the market at large.

Good results ahead....

I see the scum are keeping busy.

Glaxo investors get threat letter

Animal rights extremists have sent intimidating letters to small investors in drugs giant GlaxoSmithKline, warning them to sell their shares.
GSK said at least 50 shareholders have received threats that their details would posted on the internet if they did not sell up within a fortnight.

The threats came from the Campaign Against Huntingdon Life Sciences, an animal testing firm.

Activists have targeted Huntingdon and its business partners for years.

Shareholder privacy

An intimidation campaign led to Huntingdon being delisted from the London Stock Exchange, and its US parent company had its listing on the New York Stock Exchange postponed last autumn.

Glaxo says investors can remain anonymous

GSK said it would continue to work with HLS despite the threats.

"We deplore long-term campaigns of violence, intimidation and harassment against employees, their families and people associated with the company," a GSK statement said.

The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry said that such attacks had recently fallen to their lowest level for more than five years.

"Although several hundred letters have been sent out, there are only a handful of extremists out there," the association's director of science and technology, Philip Wright, told BBC News.

"Increasingly they are having Asbos put on them and a number have been given or are awaiting a prison sentence.

"There are relatively limited resources for them to carry out such a campaign."

GSK has advised any of its 167,000 registered shareholders to keep any threatening letters they receive and report the matter to the police.

Investors who want to protect their privacy can transfer their shares to the GSK corporate nominee service or ask their stockbroker to hold them in a nominee account, GSK said.
