Govett Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust Limited (the "Company")


Result of the Extraordinary General Meeting


At the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held today, the
resolutions approving the scheme of reconstruction of the Company put to the
meeting were duly approved by Shareholders. The Company will be placed into
liquidation on the effective date expected to be 11 December 2001.
