When on hols last weekend, we saw a restaurant in the Algarve showing a sign that said "Sardine's Here!". We, quite naturally, assumed that our fishy friend had been kidnapped by Portuguese pirates. We went in and tried that particular fish dish but didn't recognise anybody amongst the fish-heads. Do you think we might have eaten the little fella without realising? A&P

Actually, if Sardine is known as Sardine and not Sardines, then Sardine's Plaice is just as correct a possessive as Spud's Plaice! ;-)

if we're going to talk grammar then lets get it right Sardine's plaice is grammatically wrong .. Sardine is plaice doesn't make sense 'cos a sardine can't be a plaice but Sardines' plaice makes sense because a Sardine can have a plaice .
