Designcapital plc (AIM: DESC), the AIM listed investment company dedicated to high end contemporary furniture design, is pleased to announce the appointment of Pierre VASARHELYI (born 1960), as an independent Non-Executive Director of the Company.

Pierre is the President of the Vasarely Foundation, in Aix en Provence: www.fondationvasarely.fr.

He is the only grandson of Claire and Victor Vasarhelyi, known as Vasarely, and the only child of Jean-Pierre Vasarhelyi, known as Yvaral.

He graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques d'Aix-en-Provence (1984), holding a master degree in Political Science, Pierre has first managed and headed the Vasarely Foundation in Gordes (Didactic Museum), and the Architectonic Center in Aix-en-Provence, for more than ten years.

There he has organized numerous one-man shows and group exhibitions, art displays, and participated in the creation of architectural ensembles.

While collaborating with visual artists, curators, art dealers and collectors, Pierre has also become a recognized expert in the authentication and appraisal of works of the cinetic period.
