As I didn't get my timing right on the shorts and they also made an acquisition, I decided to close both my shorts at 627 for a profit of £110.

This did go to over 600p after all which suggests that something smells fishy on here, the results, statements have either been fiddled with, if not, then the share price is getting into over priced territory, I'll monitor it and I'll be looking to short it, as I was not born yesterday!

UBS have this one down as a strong buy and director has signalled confidence trough recent purchase and they have been edging up. Anyone have the UBS note?

I don't think it will be going over 600 in a hurry now, those results were poor, I was expecting somewhere over 90 million, I've sold my shares at contained small loss.

Wouldn't short this long term, management shut down 3 plants in the autumn
- 'prompt action' - but also appear to have made interesting acquisitions.
look at collapse of rentokil/initial, limited customer options, sunlight should pick up some these at good margins.

Christopher Kemball, Chairman of Davis Service Group, commented:
"Davis has achieved a great deal in 2005 and delivered a satisfactory
trading result for the year. While the UK market has continued to be challenging,
profit and margin targets for the Continental European business have again been
achieved.
In the year ahead, the UK will remain challenging, especially in the short-term.
On Continental Europe, we are targeting further good progress in 2006, while
continuing to pursue acquisition opportunities. Overall we expect to deliver
a satisfactory outcome for 2006."

FWIW, I'm short, as of about a week ago, purely because I thought the chart looked 'toppy'

Steady chaps, the SP's risen phenomenally over the recent months - perhaps a little too much. Methinks the 500p figure may loom too large in many investors profit-take targets - I would not be surprised to see a retracement to C. 450p before too long. After that, who knows; we might either slowly regather momentum or lose further confidence.
