topvest: Not sure why the share price responded as it did. Results look pretty impressive if you take out the exceptional building demolition costs and extra US costs. The usual very cautious statements from Casdon are nothing to get too concerned about. How they can make a 30% rise in US sales seem like bad news is pretty impressive though.....most board's would be waxing lyrical about that...these guys are serial doomsters! Anyway, a pretty good set of results and good that they are expanding in the US. Dividend for the year looks like it should at least be 1.5p or double the interim.

gears: I agree topvest but the new factory costs,Refurb on the old buildings plus International expansion are all costing money.Better to do it with the profits than get into debt.Maybe next year will be a better divi. The earning potential is looking good for the share price.

bozzy_s: Great results and another davidosh gem I see. One comment though, the company seems very poor at releasing newsflow and trading updates. The last 3 RNS announcements being the statutory results. Does this explain why it appears so undervalued against peers? Is there no incentive for directors to push for a better rating and higher share price?

hugepants: Hmmm. Down again. Difficult to say given how this moves on negligible volume but I think there must at least be a possibility that there is some disapponting news to come. However the surplus property, which is mostly rented out now and is effectively in addition to the toy business, is in the books at 1.8M and last valued in 1998. Even if its still worth the same thats 33p per share, the current share price. They could effectively sell the excess property and bank the current market cap from the proceeds. So as far as Im concerned this is a safe investment whatever happens. Property + net liquid assets worth 58p. Business profitable as at last results.

hugepants: Well at least the property business is being reflected in the current share price. Now we've just got to wait until the toy business gets valued! I hope theyre having a good christmas. BTW. What kind of yield will CDY be getting on their properties?

hugepants: Looking at worst case then if the toy business fails (doesnt look like it just now) then they should be able to close it cheaply given they only have 12 employees and no lease liabilities etc. That would leave the property business which would support current share price. So risk/reward looks excellent. Limited downside if toy business fails and substantial upside if it takes off again.

topvest: Share price down today. Whether the site is a quality area or not, I suspect it's value is significantly up on 1998 values.

pugugly: mad4IT>. Agreed if the Company continues as is but if broken up should produce significantly more than the current share price. (IMO & DYOR) NTAV according to Refs before thse results was 57p which is being eroded by management. Note I do not hold but have been considering as an asset play for some time if I could workout how to get management to consider liquidating the company.

pugugly: What a day and time to relase the results. Massive loss "OPERATING (LOSS (457,858)and (imo) no real sign of a return to profit on the horizon. Major customer (£400K approx of t/o) closed down. Peg sculpture slow - Dividend cancelled - Only support to share price is the asset base but current rate of loss will soon erode this base. Director contolled so no real chance of a breakup unless the family decide to close the business and the real asset warehouse is now apparently encumbered with a long lease - More later when I have been able to study the accounts in greater detail.

gamblinman: I'm holding and waiting to see what the future holds for this small company.Balance sheet good rental income good but no idea of prospects for toy sales. In my view at this share price property would cover it so willing to hold.
