07/2/2012 14:23 | That figure of $425m is the assets before the demerger. After the demerger, the net assets of BCB were $126m (about £80m) which is about 80p per share since there are 100m shares. The other demerged entity, WIHL, consisted of $295m (£186m) or about £1.80 per share as there are also 100m shares. So both entities are much undervalued (by about 4 times in both cases). | horace678
07/2/2012 14:00 | Net assets at September 30, 2011 were $425.1m (March 31, 2011 - $421.3m). | moreforus

07/2/2012 13:33 | Re the press, i do wonder how Ashcroft will be able to squirm out of the situation this time. It may be the case that the company called Johnston that Ashcroft sold off in 1999 which he claims not to have had anything to do with was a completely different business from the outfit in the TCI, with only the name having been retained, e.g. it could have been a British cleaning business...I can't remember. On this basis, Ashcroft could argue that he had nothing to do with the business that he sold off. | horace678
07/2/2012 13:29 | I'm sure it's just a little bit of banter...at least when I'm in "hell" with Lord Ashcroft, he'll be able to buy me a drink. Anyway, I'm convinced that BCB will one day come good, almost like a religious faith. | horace678

06/2/2012 20:07 | In the December surge, I sold a short-term holding at 40-something and rebought at 20-something. It doesn't always work as one never knows where the top and bottom are going to be. | horace678 |
