             Ashcourt Holdings plc appoints Non-Executive Director
                         ("Ashcourt" or "the Company")

Ashcourt Holdings Plc has appointed Russell John Race as Non-Executive Director
with immediate effect.

Russell has extensive experience in the financial sector, having spent 30 years
in economics and stockbroking.  He was an economist at the White Fish Authority
between 1968 -1970, before joining the Stockbrokers, Hoare Govett in 1970, where
he was Corporate Finance Director between 1985 -1997.  Mr Race is a trustee of
two major charities and Chairman of Chatham Maritime Trust.

Commenting on the appointment John Morton, Ashcourt's Chief Executive Officer,
said: "We welcome Russell as non-executive director to the board of Ashcourt
Holdings and the tremendous expertise and knowledge he will bring to the
company. The appointment is a continuation of our commitment to customer care
and experience, which we believe is integral to our success."

Currently, Russell holds four other non-executive directorships: T.Clarke plc,
an electrical contractor, of which he is also Chairman, Neutec Pharma plc, a
pharmaceutical company, Broker Profile Ltd, an unquoted public relations company
and William Hampton (Holdings) Ltd, a private property/investment company.   Mr
Race is also a director of RMBI Trust, RMBI Trading Limited and Chatham Maritime
Estate Limited.
