In our capacity as London Secretaries to WDL we wish to advise you, as
required by chapter 17, paragraph 33(b) of the 'Listing Rules', that during
the week ended 5 December 1997 WDL became aware that the following reportable
changes to shareholdings. These changes are as a result of the decision to
transfer shares from the names of nominees holders into the names of
beneficial holders.

Resident Nominees Limited decreased from 10.01% to Nil

Anglo American Gold Investment Company Limited increased from below 5% to
14.86%
