Torque Sets Date of Shareholder Meeting to Consider Eurogas Transaction

Torque Energy Inc. (TSX VENTURE:TQE) announces that an Annual and Special
General Meeting of its shareholders will be held on Thursday, June 30th, 2011 at
9:00 a.m. The meeting location is to be determined.


On April 29, 2011, Torque accepted an offer from Eurogas Corporation, subject to
receipt of a favourable fairness opinion and regulatory and shareholder
approvals, whereby Torque will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eurogas. That
transaction will be voted upon at the meeting.


The Company has retained Jennings Capital Inc. of Calgary, Alberta to prepare
the fairness opinion. Receipt of Jenning's opinion is expected prior to mailing
of the proxy material on or about June 6th.
