Thunderbird Energy Appoints Rick Ironside as President and Rupert Evans as Vice President of Geosciences

Thunderbird Energy Corp. (TSX VENTURE:TBD) (FRANKFURT:M2Y) (the "Company") today
announced that Rick Ironside has been appointed as its President. Mr. Ironside
will head the day to day operations, and will be instrumental in guiding the
Company's future growth plans.


Rick Ironside P. Eng., holds a B.Sc. Engineering (Calgary) and an MBA (Ivey
School of Business). He has nearly 30 years of broad based, petroleum industry
experience, including over 10 years in senior management roles. Prior to joining
Thunderbird as COO in June 2008, Mr. Ironside most recently served as the Chief
Operating Officer of Defiant Energy Inc. (sold to Advantage Energy Income Fund)
and President and CEO of Defiant Resources Corporation (sold to Profound Energy
Inc.).


Cam White, Thunderbird's former President will remain on the Board of Directors
and remain actively involved in the affairs of Thunderbird in an executive
capacity.


The Company also announced that Rupert Evans has been appointed as Vice
President of Geosciences. He holds a B.Sc. Geology from the University of
Calgary. Mr. Evans will take a lead role in the development of our existing
assets and the ongoing evaluation of potential new projects and growth
opportunities. Mr. Evans previously worked with the exploration teams at Defiant
Energy and Defiant Resources and, for the last 2 years has acted as a geological
consultant Thunderbird Energy.
