Thunderbird Energy Announces Project Financing Negotiations

Thunderbird Energy Corp. (TSX VENTURE:TBD) ("Thunderbird") today announced that
it is in negotiations to conclude a project financing arrangement that will
provide the necessary capital to develop the Company's Gordon Creek, Utah
natural gas field over the next two years. Although these negotiations have not
yet been concluded, Thunderbird has been provided with a US$2 million unsecured,
interest-bearing loan which will be repayable upon completion of the project
financing. In the event that the negotiations are not successfully concluded,
the loan will be due in one year. 


Thunderbird also announced that it has completed the issuance of an additional
$342,000 principal amount of Gas Linked Debentures. The Debentures and the
warrants and agents warrants issued in connection with the Debentures will have
hold periods expiring over the period August 1, 2011 to October 18, 2011.


Thunderbird Energy is a Canadian based oil and gas exploration and production
Company with interests in the US Rockies and mid-continent regions.
Thunderbird's holdings include the Gordon Creek, Utah natural gas field, the
Rush County, Kansas light oil project and a light oil exploration project in
Weston County Wyoming.
